Rockford High School Varsity Winter Guard Shines at 2025 WGI World Championships
The Rockford Varsity Winter Guard delivered unforgettable performances at the 2025 Winter Guard International (WGI) World Championships in Ohio and Kentucky during the weekend of April 3-6, 2025. The event drew some of the best Winter Guards from across the nation and beyond and showcases performances that blend athleticism, artistry, skill, and precision.
Rockford performed their 2025 show, A Fresh Coat, in prelims and placed high enough to reach the Semi-Finals. This was the first time Rockford Winter Guard had qualified for Semi-Finals since 2018.
The team then followed up their prelims performance with a steady and emotional Semi-Final run. Only 20 teams qualified for the Finals, and Rockford nearly qualified, but missed by just eight-tenths of a point. Rockford officially finished in 24th place out of 130 Winter Guard teams.
Congratulations to each and every Varsity Winter Guard member on a wonderful competition and successful weekend! A huge thank you also goes out to the dedicated Winter Guard Staff as well as the Winter Guard families who supported the team throughout the entire weekend.
